Itinerary - Mill Valley, CA.
Planning to visit Mill Valley? Below is a curated list of recommended restaurants to consider during your stay.
As a fifth-generation resident of Mill Valley, I can confidently say I’ve put in my time and can recommend some of the best spots in town. Below is a list of my favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spots in Mill Valley—whether you're looking for a bite after a Dipsea Trail hike or a place to grab food before heading to SweetWater Music Hall for some late-night tunes. While the list could go on and on, these are my go-to spots whenever I’m in Mill Valley.
Breakfast:
Equator Coffee
My go-to: almond milk cappuccino with their grain bowl—add avocado
They also have the best blueberry scone
Their waffles are amazing as well!
The Depot
A must-visit if you want to enjoy breakfast outdoors in the heart of Mill Valley.
Le Marais Bakery
The avocado croissant toast is a must-try.
Shoreline Coffee Shop
Great hangover breakfast
Flour Craft
All gluten free! They sell great pastries & loafs of bread as well
New York Bagels
My favorite bagel spot in Marin.
Juice Girl
The Hannah Banana smoothie is definitely my favorite. I always try to recreate it at home, but it never tastes as good as when I get it from there.
Acai bowls are great, along with their italian avocado toast.
Madrona Bakery
Great pastries, wood-fired bread and coffee!
Lunch:
Mill Valley Market
Casual, quick, and perfect for grabbing a bite on the go.
They have amazing sandwiches and it's truly one of my favorite grocery stores!
Mamanettes
Need a quick spot for a killer chicken Caesar wrap? Mamanette’s is your new go-to place! A fan favorite in San Francisco, it’s now conveniently located in the heart of Mill Valley!
Grilly’s
Try the chicken taco salad wrap - you will thank me later!!
Sol Food
A must-try! If you go, make sure to get the Bistec Sandwich or their Pollo al Horno, along with a refreshing limonada fresca.
I love picking up sol food and driving up to Bo Ridge to enjoy the meal while watching one of the most breathtaking sunsets you'll ever see.
Café Del Soul
Chipotle Sunrise is a staple, but I love the Curry Soul Good rice dish.
A great spot for a bite after a hike.
Hook Fish
Their poke plate is always on my mind—it lives rent-free!
They also serve hard kombucha and beer.
Playa
Upscale Mexican with strong margaritas.
Great tacos, but their homemade chips are unmatched. Pair them with the guacamole, and you’ll be in heaven!
It’s also a great option for dinner!
Watershed
Their hangar steak salad and thick cut fries are my favorite!
Great for dinner as well!
Dinner:
Buckeye
An upscale steakhouse, perfect for celebrations.
A must-try: their Oysters Bingo and S'mores Pie.
Personal favorites: ahi tuna salad, brick chicken, and Oysters Bingo.
Bungalow 44
Definitely try their Hamachi Poppers and Kicking Fried Chicken!
Pro tip: Ask for all dark meat with the fried chicken!
Piazza D’Angelo
The go-to restaurant for big family dinners.
My go-to is the Contadina with creamy tomato sauce. If I’m in the mood to be healthier, I skip the pasta and ask for extra chicken instead.
La Ginestra
If you go, do me a favor and order the Ravioli Ginestra—a must-try!
Tamalpie
A great spot to grab delicious pizza with kids.
Harmony
Some of my favorite dim sum—everything’s organic, and you don’t feel gross after eating it.
Tam Junction
A delicious pizzeria with a beer garden!
The outdoor seating is great, with plenty of space for your kids to hang out and play!
Corner Bar
An upscale bar with great food and drinks, ideal for light bites and cocktails.
Surprisingly, they also have one of the best burgers!
Floodwater
A great spot for watching sports games.
Hope you enjoy, and let me know if you'd like more Marin recommendations!
